best website software

I'm Timothy DeHan and welcome to Photos By Tim. My photography passion is flowers, landscapes, macros and nature. As my wife's hobby is gardening, she gives me amazing opportunities to capture the beautiful things she grows. Living on a greenbelt, wildlife encounters are also abundant. This site is dedicated to displaying and showcasing images that I hope you find as interesting and beautiful as I do. While nature is my photography passion I am available for hire for any personal and business photography needs. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy!

Each month I will be featuring a new collage slideshow of images and scenes that I hope you find as interesting as I do. Please check back often as the Photo Gallery section of this site is also updated often.

How it started

I became interested in photography immediately after purchasing my first digital point and shoot camera. It was a Canon PowerShot 100 Digital Elph. I have to admit, of all the point and shoot cameras I purchased over the years the best photos I took were with that PowerShot 100 at just 2 megapixels. Once I discovered using a tripod the quality and composition of my photos changed and improved dramatically. The newer and fancier the point and shoots got the more I became depended on a tripod to take good pictures. I still carry a point and shoot with me at all times.

Into the world of DSLR
In 2009, at the encouragement of a close friend I took my first big step into the DSLR world with a Canon Rebel XSi. Excitedly wanting to learn the benefits of using a camera that would allow me manual control over the images I was taking quickly discouraged me as the quality of my photography instantly went into the toilet. I was bummed and didn't touch the camera for the better part of a year. I found it strange to look through the view finder after looking at the large screen on my digital point and shoots for so long and even though the Rebel does have live view it was cumbersome to get the camera into that mode. I also found it very difficult to hand hold the camera especially with the extra telephoto lens that came with the package. For the life of me I simply could not hold the camera still. Not willing to let all of this get the best of me I invested in a nice Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod and then sunk some bucks into my first macro lens

It all turned around

This is where it all turned around and started to become fun again. I slowly progressed in my photography skills, reading and learning as much as I could from anyone that would take the time to instruct and simply started taking pictures and more pictures every chance I could. I am proud of the pictures I take now and get excited every time I look at them inspiring me to continue to improve. I hope you enjoy them as well. Feel free to drop me a line and tell me what you think..
